CATHLEEN CAFFERTY   Welcome to Longfellow. My name is Cathleen Cafferty and I am the principal at Longfellow Elementary. This is my tenth year at Longfellow. Previously I was at Watson Elementary, first as a teacher and then as the Principal. I have been with the district for 25 years. I enjoy what I do very much. Spending time with students and watching their growth and progress gives me the greatest fulfillment. There has been much growth and change here at Longfellow.
Longfellow is a School of Character. The students and staff work very hard to instill our Pillars of Character which are Respect, Responsibility, Compassion and Integrity. We have a very active PTO that raises a lot of funds for the students of Longfellow and provides many activities that create a great family atmosphere. We are very proud of our school and the success and accomplishments here. The staff at Longfellow dedicate themselves to improve student learning through our work as a Professional Learning Team. The staff provide students with extended time and support through interventions and enrichment opportunities. We are always striving to implement best instructional practices and we have implemented flex reading and math groups to better meet the needs of all abilities of students. We invite parents and the public to visit our school and observe many of the great things going on here at Longfellow. | |
